The Publishers Inc 2015 team was ambitious, aiming to create a highly interactive but intuitive and elegant magazine app with a variety of publishing-related articles that would appeal to publishing professionals, alumni as well as prospective Publishing students. In this year’s edition of Publishers Inc we made a conscious decision to include relevant industry topics in all three sections of the magazine: Industry, Storytelling, and Napier.

To balance the learning experience and to reflect industry digital magazine trends, we have a mixture of features, short interactive pieces and everything in between. Students were given freedom to explore Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (DPS) and to build and design their own articles but the overall cohesiveness of the design was achieved by introducing common elements to each article and the use of editorial and design house styles.
The feedback at the degree Show has been very positive, visitors to the show were very impressed that 11 students who had never used Adobe DPS before could achieve so much in one trimester, while juggling other live projects, work placements, jobs and home life.
